When deficiency of oxygen occur in body, called anoxia. Anoxia occurs when body does not get necessary amount of oxygen. Long term anoxia cause hypoxia condition.
Type of anoxia
Anemic anoxia
There is low hemoglobin in blood. Hemoglobin is oxygen carrying component.
Toxic anoxia
It occur after a human being ingest and inhale certain toxins.
Stagment anoxia
When a person does not reach the body parts that require blood to function.
Anoxic anoxia
This is occur, where limited oxygen available or high attitude.
Cause of anoxia
- Cardiac or respiratory arrest
- Drug overdose
- Smoke inhalation
- Acute asthma
Symptoms
- Weakness
- Inability to concentration
- Difficulty walking
- Seizures
- Hallucination
Treatment
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Using ventilator to help increase oxygen levels.
