Simple cuboidal epithelium consists of a single layer of cube-shaped cells. These cells usually have centrally located spherical nuclei. This tissue covers the ovaries, lines the kidney tubules, and lines the ducts of various glands, such as the salivary- glands, pancreas, and liver. In the kidneys, it fiction in secretion and absorption, while in the glands it is concerned with the secretion of the glandular products.
