Dyspnoes
 Shortness of breathing also known as dyspnoes. 
 
Feeling that cannot breathe well enough.

Most of cases it is due to asthma, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, cardiac ischemia, obstructive pulmonary disease, anxiety and so on.

“Difficulty in breathing”, “disordered breathing” or “inadequate breathing”.

A subjective experience of breathing discomfort that consists of qualitatively distinct sensations that vary in intensity.

Symptoms

  • Lobored breathing
  • Dyspnoes that occurs after strenuous exercise
  • Noisy breathing 
  • Chest pain
  • Causes
  • Asthma
  • Pneumonia
  • Interstitial lung disease
  • Cardiac ischemia
  • Obstructive pulmonary disease
  • Anxiety
  • When travel to high altitude
  • Heart failure
  • Anemia

Treatment

Supplemental oxygen will be needed.
When dyspnoes is due to an infection such as bacterial pneumonia, antibiotics can bring relief.
  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID)
  • Anti-anxiety drugs
