Oedema
Oedema is also known as edema. Fluid abnormally deposit or accumulated in between the cells space (interstitial space), that condition called oedema. Clinically oedema manifest as swelling.

Types of oedema

Peripheral oedema: This type of oedema mainly affect the arms, hands, legs and ankles.

Pulmonary oedema: Excess fluids accumulated betweens lungs cells space, which cause difficulty in breathing.

Cerebral oedema: This oedema occurs in brain.

Macular oedema: Macula is a part of eyes. This is a serious complication of diabetes of retinopathy.

Symptoms   

  1. Swollen
  2. Puffiness of the ankles, face or eyes
  3. Weight gain or loss
  4. Headache
  5. Nausea and vomiting

Treatment

Treatment of oedema will depends on the cause.
  1. Diuretics are used in oedema.
  2. Cutting down salt consumption
  3. Excise
